Inquiry Cycle
Tuning InBy our first stage we started to identify our topic (Musical Theatre) and our issue (Domestic Abuse) to start off our project and figure out our basic information. We started to think of everything we wanted in our central idea. We also discussed our issue and brainstormed on what each of us knew and wanted to know. Lastly, we made our essential agreements, and agreed to follow certain rules throughout this project.
Deciding DirectionsIn this second stage we finished up our central idea and identifying what it meant. We also identified our Lines Of Inquiry which were what we wanted to focus on through out the whole project. We started by asking questions on the topic.

Organising Ourselves
In this stage we delegated our work so we could work more efficiently. By this stage we also had a timeline to schedule our deadlines and events. Lastly we started to have field trips and attend musical theatre performances like Madagascar, Shrek, Carmen etc.
Going Further
In this stage, we went deeper to increase our knowledge and be Open-Minded. We also did online research and look up books and wrote summaries and citation which are needed in a research project. In this stage we also did some interviews to deepen our understanding on "Children Rights" and "Musical Theatre". Firsya & Amel went to see Ms.VJ (EY-EL Counselor) to ask her about some questions on "Children Rights". We also Interview Mr. Alexander Clarence Gonzalez (Director of Anak Millennium) to know what it is like to be a director in a big performance and his back ground as a director. We also interviewed Mr. Danang (MS-HS Drama teacher) & his Grade 9 students to know how to make a strong performance, and to know the parts of a musical theatre and we heard from them that everyone has a very special role. It is very important to be a Risk-Taker & being an inquirer at this stage so we could deepen our understanding and collect our knowledge and make it bigger like a tree growing its branches.
Making Conclusions
In this stage,we started to make summaries to be put in our blog. In this stage we started to make our PowerPoint and we also started writing the script for our skit. We also made a graph to show our understanding on mathematics. In this stage it is very important to be "Open-Minded" and "Reflective" so we could listen and share our idea to others and we could ask our friends including your self whether they have answered all their questions, but remember you must see your self as priority number one or else your group will be missing something and suddenly you knew that it was your responsibility, so don't try to think about others' work if you haven't done your work. We also made some conclusions on what we have learnt. In this stage, we also did our peer assessment to make sure everyone understands, we did this for a reason to remind others on what we have learnt so on the presentation day you will know what to answer.
Taking Action
In this stage, we are going to present a PowerPoint and a Skit that shows our chosen issue on "Children Rights". The Skit will be about a little girl named Delilah and her two parents who are having a conflict that affected Delilah, and her mom has been abusing her since then. The reason we wanted to make a skit about it its because we wanted to see how children from a different economic background don't get the same education like us, they don't even get their needed basic needs from their own parents and we want you to know what's happening currently in Indonesia and the world and we want you to lend a helping hand for those in need. We are also going to tell our audience that they could visit our blog to look at our research, look at our process in achieving our goals, our field trips and interviews and more. We are also going to present this to our whole community on June 1st and Global Jaya School on the 2nd .

Planner
-Function
-Change
-Different functions of musical theatre
-Change of musical theatre over time
-What are the functions of musical theatre?
-How has musical theatre change/develop over time?
-We had to come up with the questions related with the lines of inquiry for the people that we are going to interview.
6. To what extent did we achieve our purpose?
7.To what extant did we include the element of the PYP?
-We learn how to present and manage our time well since we started from Grade 1,2 ,3,4, or 5 and also how to communicate to each other instead of always fighting and mumbling.
-We have applied Balanced, Thinkers, Open- Minded, and Inquirers from the IB Learner and Commitment and Tolerance from the PYP Attitudes
8. What student-initiated inquirers arose from the learning?
- What is our purpose?
- Transdisciplinary theme:
- Central Idea
- Summative assessment
- What do we want to learn
- Key Concepts used:
-Function
-Change
- Lines of Inquiry
-Different functions of musical theatre
-Change of musical theatre over time
- What student questions/provocations will drive these inquires?
-What are the functions of musical theatre?
-How has musical theatre change/develop over time?
- How might we know what we have learned?
- What are the possible ways of assessing students’ prior knowledge and skills? What evidence will we look for?
- What are the possible ways of assessing student learning in the context of the lines of inquiry? What evidence will we look for?
- How best might we learn?
- What are the learning experience suggested by the teacher and/or student to encourage the students to engaged with the inquiries and address the driving questions?
-We had to come up with the questions related with the lines of inquiry for the people that we are going to interview.
- What people, places, audio-visual materials, related literature, music, art, computer software, etc, will be available?
- How will the classroom environment, local environment, and/or the community be used to facilitate the inquiry.
6. To what extent did we achieve our purpose?
- Assess to outcome of the inquiry by providing evidence of students’ understanding of the central idea. The reflection of all teachers involved in the planning and teaching of the inquiry should be included.
- How you could improve on the assessment task(s) so you would have a more accurate picture of each students’ understanding of the central idea.
- What was the evidence that connection were made between the central idea and the transdisciplinary theme.
7.To what extant did we include the element of the PYP?
- What were the learning experiences that enable students to:
- Develop and understanding of the concept identify in “what do we want to learn?”
- Demonstrate the learning and application of particular transdisciplinary skills
- Develop particular attribute of the learner profile and/or attitudes?
-We learn how to present and manage our time well since we started from Grade 1,2 ,3,4, or 5 and also how to communicate to each other instead of always fighting and mumbling.
-We have applied Balanced, Thinkers, Open- Minded, and Inquirers from the IB Learner and Commitment and Tolerance from the PYP Attitudes
8. What student-initiated inquirers arose from the learning?
- Record a range of student-initiated inquirers and student questions and highlight any that were incorporated into the teaching and learning.
- At this point teachers should go back to box 2 “What do we want to learn?” and highlight the teacher questions/provocations that were most effective in driving the inquirers. What student-initiated action arose from the learning?
